Djembe and Dance courses Djembe

30th April to 9th July '08

This is a friendly djembe and dundun class studying Malinke rhythms and songs, including solo techniques, accompaniments and dundun and bell patterns. There will be two levels running from January '08.

Level 1 is for beginners or people who have not been playing regularly for some time. Level 2 is for more experienced players and most of this group have been learning with me for two years; if you're not sure which level to join please check with me.

Place: Salvation Army Hall, Church Road, Teddington

Time: Wednesday evenings (no class on 7th May or 11th June)

Level 1: from 7pm to 8pm £90 for nine week course

Level 2: from 8pm to 9.30pm £135 for nine week course

Dance

There are no regular dance classes running at the moment due to lack of regular attendance, if you would like to sign up for a ten week dance course in London starting mid February '08 please register your interest here, if we have enough people interested we will go ahead and organise one.

Weekend workshops

A series of regular intensive weekend workshops in traditional dance and music run by leading practitioners from across the UK and Europe began in November 2002 at City University.
